Michelle C. Shapiro is a Senior Manager in the firm’s Individual Tax practice. Specializing in providing tax planning strategies for high net worth individuals, small businesses, and their principals, Michelle brings over 30 years of experience in the industry to her role and serves clients operating in the financial services, real estate, and professional services areas.
In addition to the tax insights she offers her clients, Michelle is dedicated to assisting the firm with business development initiatives and inspiring younger professionals through her in-house tax training seminars. Michelle has also been a speaker at external seminars on topics as broad as the implications of various tax law changes and how women can plan for divorce.
A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, she is also a member of the New Jersey State Society of Certified Public Accountants and recently assumed the role of President of their Morris/Sussex chapter, having previously served as Vice President, Treasurer, and Director for the organization.
Michelle is active on several other boards including being a member of the Mayo Performing Arts Center/Morristown Community Theater Board's Finance Committee -- a community landmark dedicated to entertaining and educating Northern New Jersey patrons of the arts. She has also been a member of the accounting sub-committee for the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center for the past ten years, reviewing the budget and the Center's audited financials.
Michelle was recognized by the New Jersey State Society of Certified Public Accountants as a 2018 Volunteer Award winner and as a 2016 Woman of Note.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the State University of New York at Albany and is a licensed CPA in New York.
