Timothy Schnall is a Principal in the firm’s Assurance practice.
Serving those operating in the alternative investment space, Timothy specializes in providing accounting, financial reporting, internal control, and audit assistance services to private equity funds, hedge funds, fund of funds, infrastructure funds, and real estate funds. His clients range from start-up managers to complex, multinational financial institutions. He adeptly guides these clients on matters related to private equity and fixed income securities, as well as distressed debt and derivatives.
Timothy joined Untracht Early in 2020 following a 22-year career working with alternative investment clients as an Audit Partner in the Investment Management Practice at a Big Four. In his prior role, he acted as lead engagement partner for audits conducted on behalf of his private equity and hedge fund clients. He was also responsible for coordinating taxation and valuation resources for those engagements requiring the services of a broader team of specialists. Additionally, he served as a valued resource to internal professionals looking for guidance on audit methodology, audit sampling, and other related technical matters.
Timothy also makes a significant contribution as an experienced training instructor to the firm’s in-house assurance training program for which he creates and delivers content designed to give the next generation of assurance professionals the tools they need to develop.
Timothy is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
He received a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Accounting and Economics from Muhlenberg College and remains active with the college as a member of its President’s Advisory Council. He was also selected to participate in the Global Asset Management Executive Education Partner Academy at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business at his prior firm. He is a licensed CPA in both New York and Pennsylvania.
