Kelita Sookhoo, CPA, is a Manager in the firm’s Individual Tax practice. She is responsible for managing high net worth individual clients primarily in the financial services industry, assisting them with simple to complex individual tax return preparation, fiduciary and gift tax services, and offering tax planning strategies that help preserve and protect a client’s wealth. Kelita is dedicated to developing strong working relationships with her client’s brokers, family offices, and other third party vendors in order to obtain a comprehensive picture of her clients’ taxation situations and to seamlessly obtain the necessary tax information.
Internally, Kelita is responsible for coordinating new hire trainings within the firm’s 1040 group, as well as developing materials and leading team-wide training sessions. She is also a mentor to the firm’s individual tax staff. Additionally, Kelita actively participates in the firm’s recruitment activities, conducting interviews for both college recruits and experienced hires to ensure the firm is bringing in the highest caliber talent.
Dedicated to keeping updated on the latest taxation trends, Kelita is a frequent contributor to the firm’s thought leadership, providing blog, newsletter, and video content.
A volunteer with the Junior Women’s Club, Kelita is also professionally involved with the Hedge Funds Care organization, and is a member of the Ellevate Women’s Network.
Within the accounting industry, Kelita is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and both the New York State and New Jersey State Societies of Certified Public Accountants. She serves as a member of both the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants’ Family Office Committee and Closely Held Businesses and S Corporations Committee.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from New York University’s prestigious Stern School of Business and is licensed as a CPA in the state of New York.
