Director of Operations

As the Director of Operations for Untracht Early, Thomas ensures that everyday activities of the firm run smoothly.  He is responsible for the management and analysis of the firm’s accounting and finances as well as developing short-term and long-range plans that align with the firm’s overall goals and objectives.  Thomas seeks to ensure that best practice processes, procedures, and technology are implemented across all areas of the business and sets internal controls and parameters to monitor and measure how efficiently operations are conducted.  He also has responsibility for overseeing facilities, firm administration, and information technology in addition to ensuring business operations are conducted in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards.

Thomas understands both the assurance and tax sides of the accounting business.  Having spent years in both public accounting and private company settings, he has significant experience with accounting and auditing, partnership and individual taxation, international taxation, and financial products and valuation.  Along the way he gained considerable experience in technology and business analysis, evaluating and developing process, procedure and technology behind various accounting and tax operations to achieve desired objectives.  Prior to becoming the Director of Operations in August 2014, he spent 8 years with 2 prominent multi-billion dollar alternative asset managers, working in varying capacities including fund controller, financial analyst, and tax director across both hedge fund and private equity platforms.

Thomas holds a New York CPA license, a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from Kean University, and an Associate in Applied Science in Accounting degree from Middlesex County College in New Jersey.
